Arrested four for gas theft and cheat people
Vadodara SOG busted a racket of refilling and repacking of gas in empty gas bottles from LPG cylinders. The team arrested four accused along with gas bottles, refilling and repacking equipments along with the tempo and mobile phones from them.
As per details the SOG team received the information about gas theft inside scrap godown at Panigate Ajabdi Mill area of the city. Based on the tip the team raided the place and found persons involved in gas theft from the sealed LPG gas cylinders to the empty gas bottles with the help of pipes.
They arrested Niraj Kahar, Rahul Rawal, Sandeep Randive and Avinash Kahar from the spot along with commercial LPG gas cylinders, empty bottles, tempo, mobile, pipes, gas seals, weight machine and other things.
The accused refill the empty cylinders from the LPG cylinders from Shiv Kripa Gas Agency in Gorwa and sold them to the customers and earn money through black marketing. The SOG team weigh the cylinders on the spot and found less weight in the bottles from one to five kilograms. They earn the confidence of the customers through their tricks to weight the cylinders and cheat them.
An offence was registered in Panigate police station and further investigation is on in the matter.
