Vadodara Jawaharnagar police on a tip-off nabbed two persons with an animal-laden tempo on Dhanora Road late last night. The team seized Rs 2.85 lakh worth items from them.

As per the Jawahar Nagar police station team while on patrolling last night received a tip about a tempo without any number plates carrying cruelly tied animals was taken from Nandeshwari to Koyli for slaughter. On the basis of which, the police had set up a watch near the Hatties Company on Dhanora Road.

Meanwhile the police spot the tempo and stopped it for investigation. During interrogation the driver Zaid Ismail Rathore and the conductor Ilyas Dilipbhai Chavda identified themselves as residents of Padra from Bhuj village. Further checking the team found cruelly tied Buffaloes worth Rs 30,000 from the tempo.

No pass permit was found with them and police arrested both along with mobile, tempo and animals. The cattle were sent to Sayajipura Panjrapol. Police arrested both the accused under the Gujarat Animal Protection Act and further investigation is on in the matter.
