Vadodara first city to permit private labs to do Antigen and Antibody tests

Vadodara administration on Friday issued notification permitting Private Laboratories to do Antigen Tests and Antibody Tests for COVID and fixing ceiling of rates to make it affordable.

OSD Dr. Vinod Rao informed, Vadodara is the first City / District to notify Antigen and Antibody Testing through Private Laboratories, apart from Government Laboratories. They have started Rapid Antigen Testing in Laboratories in GMERS Gotri Hospital and SSG Hospital from Friday. This will help in proactive detection and early intervention in the coming days.

Further Dr. Rao said, they have started pasting SHANKASPAD COVID (Suspected COVID) in cases where Acute Respiratory Illness, Influenza Like Illness and Fever with Cough is found during Door to Door Surveillance and in Dhanwantari Rath OPDs.

Patients will be advised Room Isolation for 7 days and High Risk Persons in the house will be advised to stay away from such patients in the house. Wherever the symptoms do not subside after medicine, they will take samples and confirm or negate COVID.
