Inspire others to stay healthy and fit to fight Covid 19

While we shrink ourselves inside our homes during the ongoing lockdowns of this totally unexpected pandemic – COVID19, what is the best thing that we can do ? Well, keeping fit and healthy is the need of the hour ! Be it about enhanced immunity, better energy levels, healthy body and mind, you can gain all of this by a simple activity called running !

Running will not only bring you back to shape and help you shed those extra pounds but it will boost your confidence too. To inspire you from your core, here, we share a motivational story of a wonderful Vadodara Couple who recently completed 100 days of running.

As couple runners Krishan completed the second edition while his wife Payal finished her first Hundred Days of Running (HDOR) from 27 June- 4 October 2020. They said, this year with new normal Pandemic scenario, it was difficult as we ran in the 240 m loop of our society which made us more strong-minded with consistency to continue.

Payal shares, It’s no secret that Krishan loves to run and made me too fall in love, of course with running. We don’t run the same amounts, the same paces but it has been fun to run together and at same time challenging our own limits every day. Krishan’s regularity and passion influenced me too to adopt running, hence I too joined the league this year. We had enjoyed every single day of HDOR from getting up in the morning and finishing our day with the sense of accomplishment.

Running is a very good sport to stay fit and active. And the transformation it brings both physically as well as mentally is so satisfactory. Both of them took out time from their busy schedules and run inside their society compound taking precautions amidst Coronavirus scare. The only aim is to keep fit and inspire others to stay healthy and fight the virus with inner strength.

These have been their achievements during second edition of HDOR:

Krishan Gopal Malu-

• Total 1776 Kms Run & Walk in 100 Days

• Total 10 Kms Run- 67 Times

• Total Half Marathons Run- 8 Times

• Vadodara Gender Rank- 4 / 161 participants

• Gujarat Gender Rank- 12 / 665 participants

• Overall 161st Rank (Male Category) out of total 11650 participants worldwide.

Payal Krishangopal Malu-

• Total 1277.80 Kms Run & Walk in 100 Days

• Total 10 Kms Run- 61 Times

• Total Half Marathons Run- 8 Times

• Vadodara Gender Rank- 3 / 61 participants

• Gujarat Gender Rank- 5 / 193 participants

• Overall 89th Rank (Female Category) out of total 11650 participants worldwide.

Krishan started Running and Walking daily since 1st October 2018 and had completed more than 763 Days of Nonstop Run and Walk of 9347 Kms journey.

Payal started Running and Walking daily since 14th June 2020 and till today had completed more than 141 Days of Nonstop Run and Walk of 1597 Kms journey.

While we wish best of luck to ever inspiring runners like Payal & Krishan, it is also the time to take pledge for our own fitness. And needless to mention, what can be the best option than running! Running costs you nothing! All you need to run is self-determination and the will to carry on. Moreover, the rewards that you will reap in the long run will stay with you forever in form of a healthy, fit and toned body regardless of your age.
