Give instructions to start a flu corner outside the ward along with basic facilities for the relatives of patients

Vadodara collector Shalini Agrawal visited the special isolation ward for Coronavirus at SSG hospital to review the facilities for the patients. She give instruction to the hospital authorities to start a flu corner outside the ward to check the people coming with symptoms of cough and cold. She said, only suspicious cases will be referred to the isolation ward and also direct district health administration to assign more doctors for the isolation ward to treat patients.

She said a help desk is started to spread the awareness in people about the primary symptoms of disease and to take preventive measures. Primary basic facilities like sitting, water and wash basin will also be started for the relatives come along with the patients by the hospital administration.


Collector Shalini Agrawal get details from SSG Superintendent Dr. Rajiv Deveshwar about the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the doctors screening the patients. Along with that she also asked about the facilities like ventilator, defriblator, portable X Ray, USG machine and laboratory services for the patients. Dr. Rajiv Deveshwar said the hospital is taking every preventive measure as per the government guidelines and check suspicious patients as per health department protocol.

A flu corner starts in OPD 18 of the SSG and spreading the awareness in visitors coming for quarantine and if needed admit them to the isolation ward after collecting their samples for lab testing. People coming from outside journey with symptoms of cough, cold and fever are getting tested as precautionary step by the staff. Presently the ward is equipped with 24 beds and if needed more beds will be make avaliable. Doctors are available 24×7 in the isolation ward to attend the patients.

Chief District Health officer Dr. Uday Tilawat informed that around 100 people are screened and 53 of them already completed their isolation period. 47 of them are already under observation. 539 people in the corporation jurisdiction were screens and 38 of them completed their isolation period and 32 are still under observation. Asha workers, Female health workers and doctors of PHC are contacting people coming from foreign tours and checked them. If needed they provide quarantine service to them as a precautionary step to stop the COVID 19.

District collector check the Isolation ward from outside about the facilities. She said that state government issued advisory about the crowd management at the tourist places and request people to avoid crowded places.
