Vadodara city cyber crime arrested three for running a illegal international call centre from Manjalpur area of the city. The team recovered items worth 1.40 lakhs from them and further investigation will be started after completing their Covid 19 test.

Cyber crime police station PI J.I. Patel received a information about a international call centre running from flat no. 402 at Monalisa residency at Manjalpur area of the city. The team conducted a raid at the mentioned place and found three persons involved in cheating international customers. They get data of American citizens and called them with the help of Majik Jack and Text Now devices. They lured them by giving them paid loan and to get 10 to 15% advance from them they make them to purchase Google Pay card from Walmart and Walgreen and ask them to swipe the card at Praxful website. They then convert the amount into Bitcoin and cheat them.

The team arrested three all from Ahmedabad involved in online cheating scam. Parshva Mehta resident of Maninagar Ahmedabad is B.Com in English and running the call centre. In 2017 he was arrested at Ahmedabad Elisbridge police from a call centre during the raid. Second is Sumit Rajput from Ahmedabad works as a caller and studied till 10th in Hindi. The third one Kapil Goyal from Chandkheda Ahmedabad works as a caller and studied B.Com in English.

The team seized three laptops, four mobiles, two magic jacks, cash total around 1.40 lakhs. Offence is registered under IPC 406, 419, 420, 120 B and IT Act 66 (D) and further investigation is on in the matter. Presently their samples were send for Covid 19 testing and investigation will resume after the reports.
