Vadodara boy appointed as 'India's representative' to the Commonwealth Youth Council for a tenure of 2021-23

Ajay Kashyap from Vadodara has been appointed as 'India's representative' to the Commonwealth Youth Council for a tenure of 2021-23 by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. This is for the first time India will represent in the body. Kashyap along with a girl from Bangalore will be representing the country.

Commonwealth Youth Council is the youth body of Commonwealth of Nations, which comprises of 54 countries across Asia, Pacific, Europe, Africa, Carribbean and America.

Ajay did his schooling from Navrachana School, Sama & Graduation in Law, from Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar. Now he will be representing the country at Commonwealth Youth Council, which is a matter of pride for the city of Vadodara and Gujarat state.

"It's a very important platform for us and we as a youth will be able to put forward our views in policy making. There are four agendas of economic, environment, political and social on which the Youth Council works on. There will be committees formed to work on these agendas , which will be done in the Youth Forum, that will happen on the sidelines of Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting at Rwanda (2021). It is in this meeting that the mandate for the next two years will be decided by youth representatives of all 54 nations," said Kashyap who is looking forward to represent India and put forward his views.
