To minimise delay in attending serious patients and ensure timely treatment

To minimize delay in attending to serious patients and ensure their timely treatment, Vadodara administration have started Intelligent Referral System along with 108 Ambulance Service.

Vadodara administration is taking every measure to ensure people get best treatment in their fight against Covid 19. Continuation to that Intelligent Referral System is started by the VMC with the help of 108 ambulance service to give quick treatment to patients having symptoms of Covid 19. In which the 108 ambulance service is Map with Hospital Bed Management Module on VMC website www.vmc.gov.in Around 70 hospitals both government and private are included for the treatment of patients from city and district.

OSD Dr Vinod Rao informed, In this system the 108 will take the patients to their choice of or nearby hospital after visit online for quick treatment. With this the ambulance will shift the patient through shortest possible route. The employee of the ambulance can get end details of the bed, nodal officer name and number after click on the map at Covid corner on the VMC website. They can call the nodal officer to keep the oxygen, ventilator, stretcher, wheelchair ready till they reach the hospital with the patient. This will help in quick and timely treatment to start without any delay. 108 ambulance attendants will also ensure to tell the patients to keep their Maa card with them and also informed the nodal officer for the related procedure to start.

With this IRS the 108 service will be hi-tech and the employee can get the information related to the hospital on a finger tip. The service also ensure quick and timely treatment to the patients.

Dr. Rao added, About 807 persons with COVID like symptoms made use of 108 Services in July, 2020 as against 203 in June. They are also tracking the trend of cases in various parts of City and Talukas by analyzing the 108 referrals.
