Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, has been given the additional charge of Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation (DTTDC).
He is currently serving as Special Commissioner (Trade & Taxes) in the Government of Delhi and also holds additional responsibilities as Special Secretary (Tourism) and Special Secretary (Public Works Department).
With this new role, Anchipaka will oversee both the strategic planning and day-to-day operations of DTTDC.
The move is aimed at strengthening leadership at the corporation while ensuring smoother coordination between tourism policy formulation and its on-ground implementation in the national capital.
DTTDC plays a vital role in promoting Delhi as a major tourism destination. Its responsibilities include managing hospitality properties, operating transport-linked tourism services, supporting infrastructure development, and marketing the city to domestic and international visitors.
The additional charge is expected to improve synergy between different government departments and DTTDC.
By having a senior officer already handling tourism and infrastructure portfolios, decision-making and execution processes are likely to become faster and more aligned.
Delhi has been focusing on enhancing visitor experience, destination development, and urban tourism infrastructure. Strong leadership at DTTDC is seen as crucial to achieving these goals, especially as the city looks to revive and expand tourism activities.
Officials believe that Anchipaka’s administrative experience and multi-departmental exposure will help DTTDC strengthen its role in Delhi’s tourism ecosystem.
The appointment reflects the government’s intent to integrate policy, infrastructure, and execution more effectively.
