The incident occurred on Wednesday evening at Green Mountain Park, nestled in the Al Hada region, a well-known tourist hub in western Saudi Arabia.

The ride involved – the 360 Big Pendulum – was in full swing and packed with visitors when disaster struck. Shocking videos circulating on social media captured the moment the massive structure gave way mid-air.

The central support pole of the pendulum snapped in two, sending the passenger-filled carousel hurtling downwards before violently crashing into the platform below.

In the footage, passengers can be heard laughing and cheering moments before a sharp cracking sound pierces the air, followed by a thunderous crash.

One part of the structure even appears to launch into the air as chaos ensues. Bystanders scream, some rush to help the injured, while others run in panic.

Eyewitnesses told that even though riders were strapped in, many were seriously hurt.

The force of the collapsing structure caused the central pole to spring back with intense recoil, adding to the injuries. Emergency teams administered first aid on-site before transferring victims to nearby hospitals for further treatment.
