Mumbai's Metro Line 3, the city's inaugural fully underground metro corridor, is set to transform urban travel by offering faster connectivity and easing congestion.
This line traverses some of the most bustling areas in South and Central Mumbai, marking a significant stride towards sustainable public transport.
To enhance the commuter experience, several practical improvements can be implemented.
Mumbai is renowned as a city that never sleeps, yet its public transport options are limited after midnight. Introducing a 24-hour metro service with trains operating every 30 minutes from 1 AM to 5 AM would greatly benefit night-shift workers, late-night travellers, and emergency commuters.
This initiative would ensure the metro remains a dependable travel option at all hours, aligning with Mumbai's vibrant lifestyle.
To make travel more affordable, offering a 10 per cent discount on fares paid via NCMC or Mumbai One cards could be beneficial.
Additionally, discounted trip passes for regular commuters, students, and office-goers would encourage daily metro usage.
These measures could boost ridership and foster loyalty among passengers.
