Gujaratis paid ₹84 crore via FASTag in four years

In Gujarat, vehicle owners have paid ₹84.46 crore through FASTag over the past four years – from 2022 to June 2025.

In India, Tamil Nadu topped the list with ₹126 crore in FASTag payments, followed by Uttar Pradesh at ₹119 crore and Karnataka at ₹112 crore.

It is worth noting that from August 15, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has announced toll-free trips on national highways and expressways for an entire year or up to 200 trips for ₹3,000.

This new pass will not only save time but also free travellers from the hassle of recharging frequently.

Additionally, strict measures have been taken by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) against the misuse of FASTags.

According to NHAI’s strict guidelines, “If a FASTag is not properly affixed to the vehicle’s windshield and the driver tries to scan it manually by holding it in hand or placing it on the dashboard, the FASTag will be automatically blacklisted without any prior warning.”
