South East Railway has announced a special weekend train from Hubballi (via Bengaluru) to Kollam for the Sabarimala pilgrims.
This train would be beneficial for passengers travelling home during Navaratri, Deepavali and Christmas seasons.
The service is from September 28 to December 29 from Hubballi on Sundays. Meanwhile, the return trip from Kollam is on Mondays.
The train will have one AC two-tier, two AC three-tier, 12 sleeper and five general coaches. The online ticket reservation for this special weekend train begins today.
Hubballi – Kollam Special Train (07313, Sunday)
The service starts from Hubballi at 3.15 pm on Sundays and reaches Kollam by 12.55 pm on Monday.
The train stops at SMVT Bengaluru (11 pm), KR Puram (11.24 pm) and Bangarapet (12.03 am).
Kollam – Hubballi Special Train (07314, Monday)
The return trip starts from Kollam at 5 pm and reaches Hubballi at 6.30 pm the following evening.
Haveri, Davangere, Birur, Arsikere, Tumakuru, SMVT Bengaluru, Bangarapet, Salem, Erode, Tirupur, Pothannur, Palakkad, Thrissur, Aluva. Ernakulam Town, Kottayam, Changanassery, Thiruvalla, Chengannur, Mavelikkara, Kayamkulam, Karunagapally, Shasthamkotta.
KSRTC has begun AC seater cum sleeper coaches from Bengaluru (via Mysuru) to Kottayam. The new bus has replaced the old non-AC deluxe service.
The bus that departs Mysuru Road Satellite Terminal at 3.46 pm stops at Mysuru (6.05 pm), Nilambur (11.30 pm), Thrissur (2.25 am), Angamaly (3.20 am) and Muvattupuzha (4.05 am) before reaching Kottayam by 5.15 am.
The return trip from Kottayam is at 5.31 pm and reaches Bengaluru at 6.20 pm. The ticket costs Rs 1,381 for a berth and Rs 1,111 for a seat.
