Training of doctors and staff nurses of Vadodara district started as preparation for covid third wave

Planning for strengthening of medical devices, oxygen systems and infrastructure facilities in government hospitals

Preliminary preparations have been started by the District Health System under the guidance of Vadodara District Collector as well as the District Development Officer keeping in view the various aspects related to the possible third wave of Corona. Particular attention has been paid to treating children in the third wave if they become infected.

In this regard, in a joint meeting with pediatricians of Indian Association of Pediatrics (IAP), Government Hospital, Vadodara and officials of District Health Department, discussions were there to identify the infected children at village level or taluka level and they can be treated at appropriate place according to the severity of the disease. It was suggested to provide training for setting up new pediatric beds at taluka level or community health center level.

Under this, training of doctors of Community Health Center / Primary Health Center, AYUSH doctors and staff nurses has been started in the pediatric department of SSG, Gotri and Parul Hospitals.

Training of the first batch is started at SSG and GMERS Gotri Hospital. It is planned to train about 200 doctors / staffers in phases. In addition advancement of operations such as strengthening of necessary medical equipments, oxygen supply and necessary infrastructure at Community Health Center or Taluka level Covid Care Center has been planned.
