Three youths died in a tragic accident took place between a car and truck near Kapurai intersection on the National Highway passing outside Vadodara city early morning on Saturday. It is believed that driver of the car lost control of the vehicle when he fell asleep. The car jumped over the divider reached the wrong side and collided with the passing truck. The three youths who died in the accident were on their way to Ahmedabad from Surat.
As per available details, Ashok Gokul Godani (age 36), living in Para Sukh Mandir Row House on Surat Olpad Road, Sanjay alias Chandu Hasmukh Godani (age 27) living at C-102, Yoginagar Society, Sarthana-Surat and Rajubhai Girdharbhai Gondalia (age 42), resident of Bhambhaniya village of Mahuva taluka of Bhavnagar district
was traveling in a car from Surat to Ahmedabad early morning on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the driver lost control of his steering wheel near Kapurai intersection on the Vadodara National Highway while felt sleepy. As a result the car jumped the divider and landed on the road near Liludi Dharti Hotel on the wrong side and collided with a truck heading towards Surat from Ahmedabad. The impact was such that the car turned into wreakage and the three youth travelling inside died on the spot.
People living under the Kapurai Bridge as well as passers-by rushed to the spot as soon as the accident happened and tried to rescue the trapped. The traffic was also disrupted briefly after the accident. Panigate police reached the spot after the message and recovered the bodies of the trapped youths with the help of fire brigade and send them for post mortem.
Panigate police also informed the family of the deceased on the basis of documents including the license obtained from the car. The family rushed to Vadodara from Surat after the police reported the incident. Panigate police registered a case of accidental death and further investigating in the matter.
