Recognized and felicitated women entrepreneurs from various fields across cities

India is the land of opportunities and the year 2019 has led the way in the world’s most innovative and successful entrepreneurial ventures by women. The women of today are choosing to work differently and breaking away from the stereotype professions to follow their dreams and passions. They are creating new business opportunities with unique ideas right from their living rooms and always an inspiration to many.

Celebrating such incredible phenomenon of women trailblazers, The Times of India with Times She UnLTD. Entrepreneur Awards felicitated women entrepreneurs of Bangalore in the category of food, fashion and beauty. In its first chapter, the awards focused on inspirational stories of women entrepreneurs, who stepped into the unknown with their out-of-the-box business ideas and creative work-spaces.

It is a celebration of the fierce and fearless women, who have put everything on the line to build and grow their businesses and follow their passion. The women entrepreneurs have achieved the impossible balance between home and work and emerged as multi-taskers as well as multi-achievers. They have set up their empires from scratch and set out from home to rule the world.

The achievers across the four cities were chosen by an esteemed and noteworthy jury panel including the likes of Sanjeev Kapoor, Riyaaz Amlani, Rashmi Daga, Shantanu and Nikhil, Sairee Chahal, Ambika Pillai, Dorris Godambe, Aalim Hakim amongst others who brought their expertise in their respective fields to determine the winners. The four-month long campaign was widely covered across TOI’s metro supplement brands – Bombay Times, Delhi Times, Gurgaon Times, Noida Times, Chennai Times and Bangalore Times. The campaign received an overwhelming 5000 applications, 2000 nominations and 3 million online votes on the official website.

The initiative garnered an overwhelming response of women from all walks of life and witnessed incredible stories of women in their personal and professional pursuit of fulfilling their ambitions through entrepreneurship. The amazing array of participants ranged from women who have made the shift from corporate careers to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams, moms who launched innovative products to meet the needs of their kids, homemakers who conjured up unique ideas right from their homes and not to forget women with technical degrees from some of the most reputed institutes from across the world, who chose to make a difference with their ventures.

The jury members had a tough time to read through the stories of these most amazing women, meet the shortlisted candidates face to face over several weeks, and finally choose the winners.

Commenting on the award ceremony, popular actress Ragini Dwivedi commented, “I’m truly honored to share the stage today with these wonderful achievers. It was stunning to learn about the overwhelming number of nominations. I was taken aback by the phenomenal achievements by women of this generation. Women of this era have removed the housewife tag and have proved that they don’t have to settle for something they don’t deserves. Everyone present in the ceremony has been so inspiring is and I would like give my heartiest congratulations to all the achievers.”

Adding on filmmaker Indrajit Lankesh shared, “I am extremely happy and obliged to have received an invitation by the team to be a part of the ceremony. It feels really great to be amongst inspiring women from all walks of life and to honour them. She UnLTD is a great platform initiated by The Times of India. I hope the team also recognises women from rural India for the achievements they have done in the upcoming editions.”
