The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda won one lakh prize money Basketball league

The Central Zone Khel Gujarat College League for Basketball Men was conducted by The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda at Union Pavilion where 5 teams have registered for the event. The tournament was played as per the rules of BFI and Participating teams were BJVM Commerce college Vidyanagar, Parul University Vadodara, Swarnim Gujarat Sports University Vadodara and host MSU Baroda.

SGSU defeated Parul University and MSU defeated BJVM, Anand. The final match was played between SGSU and MSU and closely contested with half time score read 24 -24. In the later part of the match based on the experience and speed MSU managed to sprint ahead with a comfortable lead of 20 points to win the match.

Dr. K.M. Chudasama, Registrar (Offg) of The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda was the Chief Guest for the final match and encouraged the participants. Jayesh Bhalawala, Senior Coach SAG, Vadodara presided over the function. Dr Harjit Kaur, In-charge Director – Physical Education Department coordinated the entire event.

The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda and Swarnim Gujarat Sports University has qualified for the State level League matches and are entitled to win a cash award of Rs.One Lakh and Rs. Seventy Five Thousand respectively at the Zonal level.
