Oppo India unveils new cooling and Performance-focused K13 Turbo series    Oppo India has launched the K13 Turbo Series 5G, introducing two new smartphones, th OPPO K13 Turbo Pro 5G and OPPO K13 Turbo 5G that mark a significant leap in mobile thermal management.

Touted as India’s first smartphones to feature a built-in cooling fan, the series is engineered for high-performance users, particularly mobile gamers and multitaskers operating in demanding environments.

At the heart of the K13 Turbo Series is OPPO’s proprietary Storm Engine, a compact active cooling module that delivers 220 per cent more airflow than conventional smartphone fans.

Developed over four years and nine design iterations, the system integrates a micro centrifugal fan with ultra-thin 0.1 millimetre blades spinning at 18,000 RPM, an L-shaped duct for targeted heat dissipation, and an arc-shaped vortex tongue to optimise airflow uniformity.

The module is 70 per cent smaller than traditional solutions, enabling the integration of a 7000mAh battery without increasing device thickness.

Complementing the active system is a passive thermal architecture comprising a 7000 square millimetre vapour chamber and a 19,000 square millimetre graphite layer.

Together, these systems reduce device temperatures by up to 4 degrees Celsius during extended gaming sessions, according to Counterpoint Research, and maintain stable frame rates without thermal throttling.

Notably, the Storm Engine is the industry’s only smartphone cooling fan module certified to IPX9, IPX8, and IPX6 waterproofing standards, setting a new benchmark for durability and reliability.

The OPPO K13 Turbo Pro 5G is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, offering a 31 per cent increase in CPU performance and a 49 per cent boost in GPU power over its predecessor.

The device supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and 5G speeds up to 4.2 Gbps, positioning it as a future-ready option for gamers and creators. Its integrated NPU enables on-device AI capabilities such as real-time image processing and intelligent gameplay optimisation.

The OPPO K13 Turbo 5G, meanwhile, features MediaTek’s Dimensity 8450 processor with an All-Big Core architecture and enhanced L3 cache.

It delivers up to 41 per cent faster multi-core performance while reducing power consumption by 40 per cent. The ARM G720 MC7 GPU and upgraded NPU 880 ensure sustained gaming performance and efficient AI-driven features.

Both models feature a 120Hz flat display optimised for eye comfort and e-sports-level responsiveness, along with dual stereo speakers, OReality Audio, and Ultra Volume Mode up to 300 per cent.

Gaming-specific enhancements include Super Frame and Super Resolution technologies, Glove Mode, Splash Touch, and a flagship-grade Synopsys 3910P touch IC for precision input.
