This follows a more robust growth of 7.1% in the previous quarter, which saw shipments reach 3.39 million units.

In Q3, the notebook and workstation categories experienced growth of 2.8% and 2.4%, respectively, while desktop shipments declined by 8.1%.

The demand for premium notebooks, particularly those priced over US$ 1,000, surged by 7.6% due to online festival sales.

HP Inc. led the market with a 29% share, dominating both commercial and consumer segments, while Lenovo, Dell, Acer, and Asus followed with shares of 17.3%, 14.6%, 14.6%, and 9.7%, respectively.

Despite aggressive discounting strategies by vendors, the consumer segment saw a decline of 2.9% year-on-year, attributed to a more organic demand this year.

However, the commercial segment grew by 4.4%, with enterprise sales increasing by 9.6%. Experts suggest that the commercial PC market is recovering as enterprises begin refreshing their IT devices, with expectations of further growth in 2025.

The rising adoption of PCs for gaming and content creation, along with a focus on AI features, is anticipated to drive consumer demand in the upcoming quarters, potentially leading to a positive outlook for the end of 2024 and into 2025.
