Google News is undoubtedly one of the best news aggregation apps, but a new bug seems to be limiting stories from your favourite websites and publications.

According to Google’s Search Status Dashboard, a page that provides information on services that are part of Google Search, an ongoing issue is currently affecting all websites causing them not to be indexed correctly.

This seems to be preventing many from seeing new stories from their preferred sites and publications and causing a decrease in traffic for many organisations.

Since Google News is a big traffic referrer for websites on the internet, many publications might see a huge dip in their traffic until the bug is fixed.

While Google did acknowledge the issue yesterday, the Search Status Dashboard suggests it started on June 21.

The tech giant says it is still working on identifying the root cause of the problem and that it will update users within the next 24 hours.

However, there is no definite timeline for when the problem will be resolved.
