Fujifilm launches X half digital camera with 1-inch sensor
Fujifilm has unveiled the X half (X-HF1) compact digital camera, the latest model in its X-series camera lineup.

The camera uses a 3:4 format vertical picture format as its default for sharing across social media platforms.

It has a wide range of filters to recreate the look of various films and provides a simple picture-taking experience to allow photographers to focus on their subjects.

The body is fitted with a 32 mm f/2.8 lens with a 3-blade aperture to help create its unique image quality.

The lens uses contrast autofocus with face and eye detection to adjust the six lens elements with three aspheric lenses.

Photographers can use the focus ring to manually set focus for creative emphasis of certain areas in a scene while looking through the reverse Galilean optical viewfinder.

Uniquely, a physical film advance lever can be used with the viewfinder to simulate the use of an actual film camera in Film Camera mode.

The camera uses a 17.74 MP 1-inch CMOS sensor with an ISO range of 200 to 12,800. Shutter speeds from 1/2000 of a second to 15 minutes can be set. The camera has no built-in image stabilizer, but does have a small flash.

The X half stores photos as regular JPEG files. Two vertical format images can be recorded side-by-side as a single image file.

The camera can also record 1,080 x 1,440 videos at 24 to 48 fps to H.264 MP4 files. Two videos, or a video and a photo can be combined into a single 2,160 x 1,440 video file.

Photos and videos can be stored in SDXC cards up to 2 TB in size. A 2.4-inch 4:3 TFT LCD with 0.92 million dots can be used to view the live composition and files.

Files can be transferred over 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, or USB-C connections. The X Half app for smartphones is used to digitally process images, create 2-in-1 images and albums, and print to Instax instant photo printers.

The camera measures 105.8 × 64.3 × 45.8 mm (4.2 x 2.5 x 1.8 in.) and weighs 240 g (8.5 oz.) with battery and card. The X half has an MSRP of $849.99 and is set to go on sale in June 2025.
