As American tech giant Google announces a $40 billion investment in Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Texas over the next decade, Google CEO Sundar Pichai has issued a strong warning to users: do not trust AI blindly. He emphasized that people should not rely completely on whatever AI shows them. Pichai also cautioned that when the current AI investment bubble eventually bursts, no company — including Google — will be able to escape its consequences.

Pichai said users must be careful and thoughtful while using AI because today’s AI models can still make mistakes. AI can be extremely helpful in tasks like creative writing, but its every output cannot be trusted. He advised people to continue using tools like Google Search, which still provide more accurate and reliable information.

He acknowledged that the possibility of errors in AI technology remains high. In May this year, Google launched an AI-powered search mode that uses the Gemini chatbot to give users an experience similar to interacting with a real expert. Pichai admitted that Google is working hard to improve this mode, but current AI systems can still go wrong at times. According to him, no company is completely safe from risks.

Pichai added that although investments in AI are rapidly increasing, unnecessary hype is also building around the technology. He warned that the AI investment bubble may burst in the future. When that happens, not just Google but every company will face the impact. However, he expressed confidence that just as the internet transformed the world, AI will also bring massive changes ahead. With its in-house chips, data, models, and research ecosystem, Google is better positioned to handle these challenges.
