Apple might not launch M3 powered MacBooks this year

Apple is all set to unveil the iPhone 15 series on September 12, but we might not see any updates to MacBooks at the event. 

According to a post on X (formerly Twitter) by the known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the tech giant will most likely unveil M3-powered MacBooks sometime next year.

Earlier this year, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman suggested that Apple was working on the next generation of MacBooks powered by the in-house developed M3 chipset and said the company might launch them by the end of 2023.

In the last couple of months, the reporter has reiterated several times that Apple’s M3-powered MacBooks will be launched sometime later this year, most likely after the tech giant is done announcing the iPhone 15 series.

To give you a quick recap, the much-rumoured will be manufactured on TSMC’s 3nm process and offer more CPU and GPU cores. While the M3 Pro chip is expected to feature 12 CPU and 18 GPU cores with up to 36GB of unified memory, the non-pro variant will offer improved single and multi-core performance with a total of 12 CPU cores (6 performance and 6 efficiency cores).
