Suspended driver of Dahod ST depot caught by the police for stealing items of passengers

Pretending as crime branch officer and steal mobiles and purse from passengers

A suspended driver of Dahod ST depot was caught by the police for stealing items of passengers pretending to be a crime branch officer. Originally from Surat he was suspended eight months ago for teasing a woman employee.

DCP crime Jaydeepsinh Jadeja said originally from Surat Kanu Sharma was working as driver in the ST depot Dahod and suspended for rash driving and teasing woman employee eight months ago. He then used the Khaki dress of the driver to pretend as police officer and involved in stealing mobile phones, purse of passengers in Vadodara, Ahmedabad and Surat depots.

He further said the team started investigating after received a complaint of purse theft at Vadodara ST depot and based on the CCTV footage caught the accused. During interrogation he accepted to involve in 12 such crimes and police recovered 60 thousand cash and eight mobiles from his possession
