In Women's T20 Cricket, India defeated Australia by 9 wickets at Dr DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

Chasing 142 runs for victory, India overhauled the target with 9 wickets in hand and 14 balls to spare.

Shafali Verma’s unbeaten dazzling 64 and Smriti Mandhana’s brilliant 54 helped India get easy win against Australia in the first T20 match of the 3 match series.

Earlier, put into bat first, Australia were all out on 141 runs in 19.2 overs.

Sadhu took four wickets for the hosts while Phoebe Litchfield made 49 runs for Australia. Titas was adjudged player of the match.

The second and the third match of this series will be played on 7th and 9th of this month respectively.
