The just finished ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2021 was co-hosted at Al Amerat Cricket Stadium in Oman, with Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi as the other three venues. Former cricketers and game legends will play competitive cricket in a global league that is aiming to become a global professional league where legends may relive past rivalries on the pitch. With Oman as the host country, the league will begin its adventure on a truly global scale.

"It is an honour for Oman Cricket to host the Legends of the game. This is going to be very big for Oman Cricket. Such a gathering of star cricketers is unprecedented in Oman and I am sure this will just be the beginning, opening up a completely new opportunity for Oman Cricket. We at Oman Cricket would extend the best hospitality to the Legends while they entertain the fans with Cricket," Pankaj Khimji, Chairman -- Oman Cricket stated.

Ravi Shastri, Commissioner, Legends League Cricket, said, "We see our League as an opportunity to promote Cricket in new destinations. Amongst all options, Oman came out as the best package. It would be a great start to a new journey ahead."

This will be the first time such huge names have played in Oman, and it might be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for Oman's cricket fans.

Vivek Khushalani, Chairman of the Legends League Cricket said, "We are looking forward to the League being hosted at Oman. It is an upcoming destination for international cricket and this event would further enhance their position. You don't get such opportunities every day to bring such legends together in one venue."

Former cricketers from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Australia, England, and other cricketing nations will be grouped into three teams representing India, Asia, and the rest of the world in the first season of LLC. Ravi Shastri was appointed Commissioner of the League last week after serving as the Indian cricket team's head coach.
