Neeraj Chopra all set to take part in finals of Zurich Diamond League javelin throw event

Olympic gold medalist javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra is all set to take part in the finals of the Zurich Diamond League javelin throw event tonight. The 24-year-old star became the first Indian to qualify for the final of the event.
Neeraj Chopra will compete in the grand event alongside five other world class javelin throwers that includes Jakub Vadlejch. Mr. Vadlejch won the 2016 Diamond League and got silver medal in the Tokyo Olympics 2020.
He is likely to face tough fight with Jakub Vadlejch, who has a season best throw of 90.88 metres compared to Neeraj's 89.94 metres.
Neeraj will also face stiff challenge from Germany's Julian Weber and USA's Curtis Thompson.
Earlier, Neeraj had qualified for the final after finishing first with a gigantic throw of 89.08 metres at the Lausanne Diamond League meet in last month. With this spectacular performance, he had become the first Indian in history to win a leg of the Diamond League.
