In the inaugural match of the Men’s Asia Cup Hockey Championship 2025, Malaysia put up a brilliant performance, defeating Bangladesh 4-1 this morning.

At the start of the match, Bangladesh struck first when their striker Ashraful Islam scored a quick goal in the opening minutes. This early lead boosted the morale of the Bangladeshi players.

After the initial setback, Malaysia changed their strategy and gradually began to take control of the game.

The Malaysian players adopted an aggressive approach, showcasing excellent passing, superb coordination, and powerful strikes.

As a result, by the end of the first quarter Malaysia had equalized, and soon after struck three more goals in succession to completely dominate the contest.

Bangladesh’s defence line could not withstand Malaysia’s fast pace and attacking moves. The Bangladeshi players had little to offer against Malaysia’s forward line.

After taking the early lead, Bangladesh came under pressure and failed to make a comeback. The decisive fourth goal was scored by Malaysia’s Syed Cholan in the 54th minute, sealing victory for his team.

In the second match of Asia Cup Hockey Championship Men’s at Rajgir, Korea thrashed Chinese Taipei team 7-0 at the Rajgir International Sports Complex.
