Indian eves registered a convincing 34-run victory over Sri Lanka in the first T-20 International in Dambulla yesterday, taking a 1-0 lead in the three match series.
Chasing the target of 139 runs, the hosts were reduced to 27 for three within seven overs. They scored 104 for five in the stipulated 20 overs.
Sri Lankan chase was never trouble free, thanks to left-arm spinner Radha Yadav's early strike and tight bowling by seamer Deepti Pooja Vastrakar in the middle overs.
Yadav dismissed dangerous-looking Sri Lankan captain Chamari Athapaththu and Harsihtha Madavi in just three balls.
Next match will also be played in Dambulla tomorrow.
