In the Bengaluru test, India are now in a dominating position against Sri Lanka in the second match of the series being played in the day-night format at Chinnaswami Stadium. At stumps on day two last night, hosts had the 419 run lead in the second innings.

Hosts began their second innings with a lead of 143 runs. Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant scored the fastest Test fifty by an Indian batsman. He completed his half-century in 28 deliveries, breaking Kapil Dev's almost 40-year record of the fastest Test fifty. Shreyas Iyer yet again scored fifty providing India complete control of the match.
