India has accumulated an overall tally of 24 medals- 6 gold, 8 silver and 10 bronze in the Asian Games 2023, being held at Hangzhou, China.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the team on their win and wished them the very best for their future endeavors.
However, in their individual ten meter pistol final rounds, Cheema was eliminated at the beginning and Singh finished fourth, failing to secure a medal, dashing the country’s hopes.
In the men's 4x100 meter freestyle relay heats, Indian swimmers Tanish George Mathew, Vishal Grewal, Anand AS and Srihari Nataraj clocked three minutes and twenty-one seconds, setting a national record time.
They were promoted to the final, scheduled later for this evening. On the other hand, the women's freestyle relay team comprising of Dhinidi Desinghu, Maana Patel, Janhvi Choudhary and Shivangi Sarma finished seventh in the 4x100 meter final. They will also swim for a medal later today.
In Wushu, Naorem Roshibina Devi made the country proud by receiving the silver medal today.
She lost out in the final of 60 kg category against China’s Wu Xiaowei.

Another doubles pair Manush Utpalbhai Patel and Manav Vikash Thakkar also won by 3-1 in the same round against Maldives' Moosa Munif Ahmed and Mohamed Shaffan Ismail at Hangzhou. Both the Indian pairs will contest in the round of 16 tomorrow.
