Hardik Pandya, Ashish Nehra heavily penalised after MI Vs GT IPL 2025 encounter

During their IPL encounter at the Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday, Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya and his squad received substantial penalties for slow over rate, whilst Gujarat Titans' head coach Ashish Nehra was sanctioned for behaviour "contrary to the spirit of the game".

MI suffered a three-wicket defeat to GT via the DLS method in a rain-disrupted match that extended beyond midnight.

Each member of the MI squad, including impact player and concussion substitute, received fines of either Rs 6 lakh or 25 per cent of their match fees, whichever amount was lesser.

Whilst the IPL release did not specify Nehra's transgression, the former fast bowler displayed visible agitation throughout the rain-interrupted match and was observed having animated exchanges with the on-field officials.
