For India Shreyas Iyer smahsed 80 runs in 76 balls while Skipper Shikhar Dhawan scored 72 in 76 balls and Shubman Gill made 50 in 65 balls.
For New Zealand Tim Southee scalped three wickets while Adam Milne scalped one wicket .
The second ODI will be played on Sunday at Seddon Park in Hamilton. The third match will be played on Wednesday at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch.
