FIFA World Cup: Argentina, Poland, Australia & France enter Round of 16

In the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, Argentina beat Poland 2-0 at Stadium-974 in Doha while Mexico defeated Saudi Arabia 2-1 at the Lusail Stadium, in their last Group C encounters.
Today, December 1, Croatia will take on Belgium while Canada will lock horns with Morocco in Group F at 8:30 PM India Standard time.
In group E, Japan will face Spain whereas Costa Rica will take on Germany at 12:30 AM India Standard time. Alex Mac Allister and Julian Alvarez scored one goal apiece to qualify Argentina in the last 16 along with Poland.
Mexico's Henry Martin opened the scoring against Saudi Arabia, going 1-0 up at the start of the second half while Luis Chavez hit a long-range free-kick to put Mexico 2-0 up but Saudi Arabia's Saleem Al Dawsari netted a goal in the 90th minute of the game.
Despite securing a 2-1 win over Saudi Arabia, Mexico was knocked out of the tournament, due to an inferior goal difference in comparison to Poland in Group C.
Australia beat Denmark 1-nil at Al-Janoub Stadium while Tunisia stunned defending champions France 1-0 at the Education City Stadium in the group D encounters.
From Group D, Australia has joined France in the Round of 16 with a 1-0 win over Denmark.
Mathew Leckie's goal in the 60th minute guided Australia to reach the Round of 16 for the second time in their World Cup history.
Wahbi Khazri scored the solitary goal of the game in the 58th minute as Tunisia registered a historic 1-0 victory over France, but it was not enough for them to reach the last 16. Because Australia finished second in the table with six points while the African nation finished in third place with four points.
Meanwhile, France has topped the table with six points with two wins and a loss.
France already qualified for the knockout stages following Saturday's victory over Denmark. After a draw with Denmark in their opener, Tunisia lost to Australia in their second match.
