@IndianFootball In FIFA Soccer World Cup 2026 Qualifiers, India began their second round campaign with 1-Nil victory over Kuwait yesterday.

Indian winger Manvir Singh scored the only goal of the game in the 75th minute of the match held in Kuwait City to snatch the country three important points.

Kuwait played in the second half with greater endeavor but goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu and the defenders guarded the post well.

India will next play Qatar in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday. India is placed in Group A alongside Qatar, Kuwait and Afghanistan, with the top two from the group progressing to the third round of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The top two teams from each group will also secure qualification for the 2027 AFC Asian Cup.

The top two finishers in the group will make it to the FIFA 2026 AFC qualifiers, and also grab a direct entry into the 2027 AFC Asian Cup.
