Dubai and Abu Dhabi have officially been confirmed as the host cities for the 2025 Men’s T20 Asia Cup, scheduled to take place from September 9 to 28, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) announced on Saturday.

Dubai will host 11 matches, including the highly anticipated final, while Abu Dhabi will stage eight games at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium.

India’s group stage matches will include high-profile encounters:

  • vs UAE on September 10 in Dubai
  • vs Pakistan on September 14 in Dubai
  • vs Oman on September 19 in Abu Dhabi

The tournament will feature eight teams, divided into two groups:

  • Group A: India, Pakistan, UAE, Oman
  • Group B: Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Hong Kong China

The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super Fours, followed by the final on September 28 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

“The Asia Cup is more than just a tournament—it’s a celebration of Asian cricket,” said ACC President Mohsin Naqvi. “Hosting it in the UAE brings the excitement to one of the world’s most vibrant cricketing hubs. We are confident that the 2025 edition will set new standards and deepen the connection between the game and its fans.”

This edition of the Asia Cup will be held in the T20I format, as part of preparations for the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. It also marks the first time the Asia Cup will feature eight teams in the T20 format.

Although India is the designated host, the tournament will be staged in the UAE following an agreement between the BCCI and PCB to play at neutral venues until 2027, due to ongoing diplomatic tensions.

India are the defending champions, having defeated Sri Lanka in the 2023 final (50-over format), while Sri Lanka won the last T20 edition in 2022.
