In today's match against Japan, Olympic gold medalist PV Sindhu lost the first game. After this, the pair of Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand Pullela made a come-back and won in the double's category, followed by another win by Ashmita Chaliha in single's category. In the fourth game, the Japanese pair defeated India's Ashwini Ponnappa and PV Sindhu 2-0.
Then in the deciding match, Anmol Kharb defeated Japan's Natsuki Nidaira by 2-0 and registered an important victory.
