Dilip Gavit kickstarted today's medal streak by helping India reach the coveted three-figure mark.

He secured gold in the men's T-47 400m event with a time of 49.48 secs.

This remarkable feat supersedes India’s previous best of 72 medals, which was recorded in the 2018 edition of the Asian Para Games in Indonesia.

The Indian contingent will aim to maintain its victorious run at the Games in Athletics, Chess and Rowing, today.

Yesterday, Adding a total of 17 medals, Indian para-athletes secured an impressive haul of 7 Gold, 6 Silver, and 4 Bronze medals.

Sheetal Devi commenced the day with a podium finish winning gold in the Archery compound open event.

In the men's long jump T-64 event, Dharmaraj Solairaj grabbed a gold with a jump of 6.80.

The Indian duo Nitesh Kumar and Tarun won gold in men's doubles SL3-SL4 badminton. In men's Badminton singles SL3 event, India dominated with two podium finishes.

Pramod Bhagat secured the coveted gold, while Nitesh Kumar brought home the Silver.

In Badminton women's singles SU5 category, Thulasimathi clinched gold, defeating China's Quixia Yang, with a score of 2-0. Earlier, in the men's 1500m T-38 event, Raman Sharma bagged gold clocking an impressive 4:20.80.
