The first ever IPL style T20 cricket championship for women began in Bengaluru today.

Mysuru Warriors, Hubli Tigers, Kalyani Bengaluru Blasters, Mangaluru Dragons and Shivamogga Lioness will be vying for the T20 Maharani trophy till August 10th at M Chinnaswamy stadium.

In the first pre match today, the Shivamogga Lions beat Hubli Tigers by 15 runs in the morning.

Hubli Tigers could score only 111 runs at a loss of five wickets as against Shivamogga Lioness that had scored 126 runs at a loss of six wickets.

The team member Advika Gowda made valuable 44 runs in 48 balls, who was further aided by Sowmya Verma who made a contribution of 24 runs.

For the Hubli team Nandini Chauhan scored 34 and Annapurna Bhosale made 39 runs in 39 balls. Priya Chavan took four wickets for Shivamogga Lioness.

The next match has now commenced between Mangalore Dragons and Bengaluru Blasters.
