Dr. Rajnikant Jash Makwana, Assistant Professor at the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, is the first faculty member from Gujarat state university to be awarded the post-doctoral research position for Nuclear Physics at the University of Salamanca, Spain (World’s third oldest university & 601-650 ranking in the world).

He is a son of a poor mill-worker and a small-time farmer, from a very remote village in the Nadiad district. Prof. S. K. Mukherjee (Ph.D. supervisor) who is at present the Head of the Physics Department, has been the motivation behind Dr. Rajnikant for joining the M.S. University and start his research career in experimental Nuclear Physics. Getting this kind of opportunity in such a pandemic situation is really tough.

He has full support and encouragement from Head of the Physics Department (Prof. Mukherjee) and Dean, Faculty of Science (Prof. Hari Katariya). Dr. Rajnikant has more than 50 publications and 4 research projects to his credit.
