Vaccination campaign gains momentum in Vadodara district

Corona vaccination campaign is going on in full swing in Vadodara district, which provides health protection against the spread of Covid-19 epidemic worldwide.  Vadodara District Health Department under the guidance of District Collector Shalini Agarwal and District Development Officer Kiran Zaveri conducted a four-day Tika Mahotsav campaign to speed up vaccination.

The health department in the district has started giving corona vaccine to the citizens above 45 years of age. Under the vaccination campaign conducted by the district health system, so far in Vadodara district, a total of 3,49,775 citizens of Health Corona Warrior, Front Line Warrior, 45 to 59 and over 60 years of age have been vaccinated and got health protection cover against Corona.

The first dose of corona vaccine was given to 1838 citizens in Vadodara district on Friday, said Collector Shalini Agarwal.

Stating that the work of vaccinating people at the vaccination centers in rural areas of Vadodara district is going on in full swing, the Collector added that the elders of 60+ years and the citizens above 45 years of age are taking advantage of these arrangements. She added that so far in Vadodara district, a total of 3,49,775 citizens, including 1,55,247 in the age of 45 and above and 1,45,857 above the age of 60, have been given corona vaccine.

She said that so far 22736 health corona warriors, 25935 front line corona warriors, 1,55,247 citizens aged 45 to 59 years and 1,45,857 citizens over 60 years of age have been vaccinated against corona in Vadodara district. So far, the first dose of corona vaccine has been given to 2,83,884 citizens in the district and the second dose of vaccine has been given to 65891 citizens.

People taking vaccine are being given the necessary medicines to be taken in case of minor or major side effects like fever or body aches along with giving them an understanding of the precautions to be taken. So far almost no case of side effects has been reported.
