Vaccination campaign gains momentum in Vadodara district
Corona vaccination campaign is going on in full swing in Vadodara district, which provides health protection against the spread of Covid 19 pandemic. Vadodara District Health Department has conducted the four day Teeka utsav under the guidance of District Collector Shalini Agarwal and District Development Officer Kiran Zaveri to speed up the vaccination.
The district health department have started giving corona vaccine to the citizens above 45 years of age. Under this vaccination campaign so far in Vadodara district, a total of 2,77,417 citizens consists of Health Corona Warriors, Front Line Warriors, 45 to 59 and over 60 years of age have been vaccinated and got health protection against Corona.
Collector Shalini Agarwal said that the first dose of corona vaccine was given to 3571 citizens in Vadodara district on Wednesday.
Stating that the work of giving corona vaccine at vaccination centers in rural areas of Vadodara district is in full swing, the Collector added that the elders of 60+ years and the citizens above 45 years of age are taking advantage of these arrangements. She added that so far in Vadodara district, 1,11,325 people above the age of 45 years and 1,21,987 people above the age of 60 years have been vaccinated.
She said that so far 22036 health corona warriors, 22069 front line warriors, 1,11,325 citizens aged 45 to 59 years and 1,21,987 citizens aged over 60 years have been vaccinated against corona in Vadodara district. So far, the first dose of corona vaccine has been given to 2,44,339 citizens in the district and the second dose of vaccine has been given to 33078 citizens.
In addition instructions are given to the people about the precautions and necessary medicines to be taken in case of minor or major side effects like fever or body aches are being given. So far almost no incidents of side effects have been reported.
