Shrimant Maharaja Samarjitsinh Gaekwad flag off Shivaji Jayanti rally from Shivaji chowk Salatwada in Vadodara. Around 22 floats are part of the procession taken out in the city to celebrate the birth anniversary of great Maratha ruler.

The rally started from Salatwada Shivaji chowk and moves in the city joined by various groups of the city. Around 22 different floats joined the procession spreading the message of Shivaji. Little kids dressed as Shivaji and women dressed in traditional sarees is the highlight of the celebration.

The traditional dhol players specially girls playing alongside males gives a glimpse of equality in the society. Small girls part of the dhol group is the special highlight as they match the tunes with their elder counterparts. As per organisers nearly 100 dhol players are beating the dhols at one time leading the procession through city roads.

Some of the floats showcase the traditional sports like Malkhambh and others turn the attention of people towards them. DJ playing traditional and modern songs creates a musical ambience in the whole procession.
