Gujarat is known for its festivals and Uttarayan is one of them attracting kite fliers from all over the world. The festival is among the favorite and people already plan for the terrace parties during the two days of kite festival.

The popular Mandvi Bazaar in Vadodara is all set to welcome the kite enthusiasts but this time the shortage of kites hit the market. The reason is the shortage of bamboo sticks used in to make kites. The kite sellers received less raw material due to the shortage which ultimately increased the rates of the kites in the market.

The kite sellers said the bamboos were destroyed due to cyclone in Assam from where the sticks come to Gujarat after cutting in Kolkata. They received less materials which increased the rate of kites in the market.

This time of the year the market is full of people which can invite disaster anytime. The kite sellers request the fire brigade to take serious note of the situation and make arrangements to tackle any disaster.
