This grand celebration brings together women pioneers and SHEROES community members from all walks of life

Bangalore, August 18, 2018: SHEROES, the women’s community platform, kicked off the first chapter of the SHEROES Summit 2018 at ITC Windsor in Bangalore today.The first of its kind multi-city event brought together women trailblazers, artists and members of the SHEROES community, all under one roof. Focusing on the theme ‘Building Communities’, the summit community members from core communities like Careers, Love, Sex & Relationships, Health, Bazaar, Cooking and Arts & Crafts, to name a few, coming together. Early adopters of the SHEROES app, a women-only space where members can connect, engage, grow, take inspiration and support each other, shared their growth stories, in a specially curated community panel.

SHEROES SUMMIT, Asia’s largest connector platform and forum for women saw a diverse line of visionaries like Safeena Hussain, Founder of Educated Girls, who is bringing lakhs of girls in rural India. “Knocked on 4 million doors to get girls back to school, with the help of 12,000 on-ground volunteers via communities,” said, Safeena in a fireside chat with Sairee Chahal, Founder, CEO of SHEROES.

Shefali Sonpar, Sr. Director, Head of Insurance Practice, UST Global, shared how her internal drive and focus helped her succeed at various stages in life. “As women, it’s time we take charge of our lives, have self-belief, ignore the noise, and you will grow to become the person you want to be. Stay relevant by keeping yourself abreast of what is happening, be it technology, education or art.” UST Global, an organization with a strong cultural DNA for inclusion, allows work-life integration without compromising on productivity. “The company allows me to work on next-generation digital transformation solutions and pursue my passion of working at the intersection of business and technology,” she added.

Priya Krishnan, CEO of KLAY Prep Schools and DayCare, who established India’s largest network of corporate day care centres to help women get back to work, shared her journey of inspiration, and action to support women in workplaces and via opportunities. “Post the Maternity Act, the demand for corporate creches has increased and we are happy to launch Creche-In-A-Box at the #SHEROES Summit. It is an initiative to support women who want to start their own crèches and our team will host workshops for them” she said. Another woman who took charge, and pursued her dreams, was Medha Joseph, an explorer at heart and Co-founder of Embarq, shared her iconic journey by road, spanning 15 countries, 3 continents and 57 days.

Adding to it, the SHEROES champion Rwituja Gomes Mookherjee, Kavitha Shenoy, member of the Aspiring Writers community, Mamta Sundaes, General Counsel, Diageo India, and Asha Subramaniun, Cluster Operations Manager at KLAY Prep Schools and DayCare, took part in the community panel on the theme – ‘Real Women. Real Stories’. Bangalore’s popular RJ Shruti from 92.7 BIG FM shared about the challenges and perks of being an RJ in the digital era. The Summit kicked off with a soulful performance by contemporary Hindustani Classical artist Saptak Chatterjee, followed by some hard-hitting pieces by slam poet by Pooja Sachdeva, and some original music and popular covers by artist Geetu Hinduja.

Commenting on the Summit, Sairee Chahal, Founder & CEO, SHEROES said, “We launched SHEROES to create a first-of-its-kind women-only platform that could help women connect, engage, support and grow together.
