Transparent and fair process conducted in presence of representatives of political parties and election observers
The process of accepting, verifying and finalizing the list of candidates as per the timetable for the by-elections of 147 Karjan Assembly seats has been completed and necessary preparations are being made for the polling by the election commission. Voting for this seat is scheduled for November 3rd 2020.
As part of this, under the supervision of District Electoral Officer and Collector Shalini Agarwal, computer-based fair and transparent process of selection of voting machines and VVPATs to be used at the polling booths and formation of a team of officers and staff for polling at 311 polling booths was carried out by the Returning Officer of the constituency.
The process was carried out under the supervision of Jata Shankar Choudhary, election observer appointed by the Election Commission of India and Abhay Kumar, Inspector of Expenditure observer as well as representatives of political parties and candidates.
K.R. Patel, Electoral Officer and Provincial Officer of the constituency said, 311 polling stations have been set up for Karjan constituency. On Wednesday the list of which number of voting machines and VVPATs will be placed in which polling station of this constituency is given to the concerned.
With the help of the list of human resources selected for polling at the polling station, teams of Presiding Officer, Polling Officer and P.O. were formed from the commuter click. 1029 employees were selected for this work as per 110 per cent rule.
Now in the third process before 72 hours before the polling, each team will be allotted their polling station duty through a computer process without human intervention. It will be decided which polling station the team will go on the day.
