Save the earth motorcycle rally by Baroda NCC

Flagged off from National Salt Satyagraha Memorial’, Dandi

On the occasion of 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, a motorcycle rally with a message “SAVE THE EARTH” is being organized by Baroda Group NCC. The rally will be from 20 Aug to 26 Aug 2019 under the aegis of Gujarat Directorate NCC keeping in sync with Pan India programmer of “Mega Pollution Awareness Pakhwada”.

The rally will be jointly flagged off from ‘National Salt Satyagraha Memorial’, Dandi, by NCC Baroda Group Commander, Brigadier Charandeep Singh, Sena Medal and Girish Pandya, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Navsari. The riders consisting of 16 NCC Cadets (8 Boys and 08 Girls) led by Colonel Umakant Sharma, CO 6 Gujarat NCC Battalion, Surat. They will cover a distance of approximately 1500 kms over 6 days covering Narmada, Vadodara, Bhavnagar, Diu, Porbandar, Dwarka, Jamnagar, Rajkot and finally culminating the rally at Sabarmati Ashram, Ahmedabad. The rally will be flagged in by Major General Roy Joseph, Additional Director General NCC, Gujarat.

During the rally, the riders will spread awareness on water conservation, tree plantation, anti-pollution and green environment Initiatives by carrying out lecturers and nukkad plays especially at famous tourist locations of Dandi, Statue of Unity, Diu, Somnath temple, Dwarka temple, Gandhiji’s birth place at Porbandar and Sabarmati Ashram with an aim at spreading awareness amongst tourists visiting these places.
