Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Türkiye have signed a joint defence agreement, strengthening security cooperation among the three countries amid rising military tensions and conflicts across the Middle East.
The agreement, announced in a joint statement issued by the Saudi Press Agency and Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has been named the “Mecca Joint Defence Agreement.”The three countries said the pact reflects their shared commitment to strengthening collective security and promoting peace, stability and security in the region and beyond.
The agreement comes at a time of heightened geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, with ongoing conflicts and growing security concerns prompting countries in the region to deepen strategic and defence partnerships.Under the pact, any armed attack against one of the three countries will be considered an attack against all three.According to the joint statement, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Türkiye aim to enhance cooperation and work together toward a more secure and prosperous future.
