Rajya Sabha Chairman Venkaiah Naidu has decided to revisit the new dress code adopted for marshals in the House. When the House met today, Mr Naidu said the Secretariat had come out with the new dress code after considering various suggestions. He said observations have been made by some political parties and well meaning people following which, it has been decided to ask the Rajya Sabha Secretariat to revisit the new dress code.
Earlier, the marshals of the Rajya Sabha used to dress in traditional Indian attire with turban which was changed to attire similar to armed forces’ uniform. Some former army personnel and political parties have raised objections to this.
