Aashima Mehrotra puts up her solo painting at Jehangir Art Gallery

A civil
servant working with Indian Railways, Aashima Mehrotra has took to the world of
colour and canvas through her debut solo exhibition titled “Rangvidha” at
Jehangir Art Gallery in Mumbai. The exhibition was inaugurated by the famed and
renowned Golden Voice Of India Ameen Sayani. Pheroza Godrej an avid art
connoisseur, Vilas Shinde – Chairman of National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA),
Prof. Vishwanath D. Sabale – Dean of JJ School of Art, Mumbai alongwith various
art lovers were also present on this occasion. This Exhibition is being held
from 23rd to 29th December, 2019 and getting very nice response from large
number of visitors.

Rangvidha
is the blissful journey of Aashima Mehrotra through the lanes and bylanes of
colours. This blissful journey started at the age of 5 years and matured under
the guidance of celebrated artist Veer Munshi. Also Aashima’s job in Railways and
Tourism as a senior officer of Indian Railway’s Traffic Services helped to
evolve her perspective towards situations of people in faraway towns,
countryside and various art forms in India and abroad.

Mehrotra
has showcased few of her works in India Art Festival, Delhi,
International  Craft Week, Delhi, 92nd Annual Art exhibition of AIFACS
(2019) and is also the recipient of 6th place in Impressionism-human, American
Art Award for 2019. Her paintings reflect philosophy of life, signifying such cosmic
play where the actor is lost and what remains is the act or the performance,
signifying the timeless truth of this world, this universe and beyond.
